The Fact is.....
Maintaining an ALL volunteer Fire Department saves tax payers on average over 4 million dollars a year! Federal, State, County, and Local Governments subsidize fuel, utilities, and some maintenance costs which account for approximately 50% of the operating expenses of a volunteer Fire Department. The balance of the operating costs including the purchasing of equipment and apparatus, must be cover through annual fund drives and fundraising activities.
Case For Support.....
Once a predominantly agricultural community, over the last couple of decades our response area has steadily transformed into more of a suburban bedroom community. Now with nearly 17,000 residents and a rapidly expanding commercial presence, fire protection is a serious responsibility.
Fire and Rescue protection in Adams Township, Mars Borough, Seven Fields Borough and Valencia Borough is solely provided by the volunteers of the Adams Area Fire District (AAFD)…men and women, like you, who serve without pay. These volunteers are on call 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Ready to drop whatever they are doing to risk their lives to protect your family, your business and your property.
However, none of this would be possible if it weren't for the generosity of those who have donated in the past and those who continue to contribute. Our Annual Fund Drive is vital to our operational budget. Your dollars are responsibly used to help cover our day-to-day operating expenses, fund firefighter training and maintain and upgrade our equipment, gear and apparatus.
Please make your annual gift today and rest assured that, in your greatest times of need and desperation, we will answer “the call” and make whatever sacrifices are necessary to protect your most valuable assets. Simply because - it is what we do!
