As you may know, to help serve our community better, AAFD automated our siren to notify our neighbors of dangerous weather conditions and other emergencies

This siren will sound steadily for three minutes when a severe weather alert is issued and continue to be sounded during the warning every 12 minutes, for 3 minutes. It will only sound for the following severe weather warning events: tornados and/or high winds over 60 mph.
On May 4th at 11 a.m., the station will complete a live test. The siren will sound for approximately 30 seconds.
