Just after midnight, Station 42 along with the SAFER group, Allegheny County Station 228, and EMS Station 76 responded to a house on fire with an elderly male trying to evacuate residence. Station 42 was staffed and Engine 42 arrived on scene around 2-3 minutes after dispatch with a crew of 6. Crews found the charlie side (rear side) of the residence on fire which had started at an electrical box for the AC condensing unit. The fire had spread up the back wall and into the ceiling area in the adjacent kitchen. Crews quickly extinguished the fire and checked for extension. Homeowner was found on the front porch and was assisted down the steps and into a chair on the front lawn by Adams Twp Police and the EMS crew.
